DR. ROY HAROLD CANTRELL was born in Shelby Gap, Kentucky, on August 22, 1939. He entered the ministry in 1959. Dr. Cantrell has a Doctor of Ministries degree from Christian Life School of Theology (Beacon University Institute of Ministry) and a Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Counseling from Cornerstone University. He is a licensed Pastoral Counselor with the National Christian Counselors Association, and he is a board certified substance abuse/addiction therapist, board certified integrated marriage and family therapist, and board certified temperament therapist through N.C.C.A. He is also an International Representative for them.

Dr. Cantrell is President/ Founder of City Gate Church, and serves as senior pastor. He is also Director of Beacon University Institute of Ministry, a satellite of Beacon University of Columbus,
Georgia. Dr. Cantrell is president and Founder Life Management Institute, a certified institute of the National Christian Counselors Association.
Dr. Cantrell was commissioned A KENTUCKY COLONEL by the Governor of the state of Kentucky, May, 1991. He has been involved with Evangelism Explosion for the past 25 years, serving as a certified teacher/trainer and associate clinic teacher.
He has traveled extensively, ministering in Israel, Russia, England, Mexico, Guatemala, Canada, Cyprus, Jamaica, and Cuba. His hobby is the Spanish language. He has studied Spanish at the Centro Linguistico Maya language school in Antigua, Guatemala.
He and his wife, Ina Kaye Goins Cantrell, pastor City Gate Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee. They have two children and five grandchildren.
There is no one I love and respect more than my faithful and brilliant wife, Kaye. She has the wisdom of Solomon, and the healing touch of an angel. My faithful companion of 44 years, my best friend. A gift from god!
